Background

Direct Service Solutions Ltd was formed early in 2000. ‘DSS Animal Management’ is the trading name for all its animal related activities. DSS is a privately owned company, where three of the four major shareholders/partners actually work in the business to ensure the quality of its service is maintained. The company’s services to councils and other clients cover all issues relating to dog and stock animal problems, the management of public complaints and dog registration compliance. DSS has a wide variety of education programmes that are available to all sectors of the community.

Operations

The main DSS operational centre (head office) is located at 81 Springs Road, East Tamaki, Manukau City, Auckland. Our Wellington office located at 73 Moa Point, Rongotai, manages the business activities for that city. Our Franklin office is based at 15 Austen Place Pukekohe. DSS also maintains an office at the Manukau City and Papakura District Council Animal Shelter, located at 33 McLaughlins Road, Wiri. This facility is New Zealand’s largest and most modern animal shelter.

At its Manukau City office, DSS operates a call centre/control room, which specialises in the processing and field dispatching of animal control related complaints from the public.

All of DSS field operations vehicles, offices and hand held radios are linked via a comprehensive trunked radiotelephone network with an integrated coverage over the North Island of New Zealand. This communication network is supplemented by individual pagers and mobile phones to provide a 24/7 service to its customers.
